AcquiSci’s medical device based technological platform has applications in therapeutic areas of stroke and Chronic Heart Failure (CHF) that represent multi-billion dollar markets with little competition.

The treatment involves taking a small amount of the patient’s blood, treating it in our medical device, which utilizes oxidative stress to cause a change in the white blood cells know as apoptosis (programmed cell death) and then re-infusing it into the patient.

In addition, AcquiSci’s medical device based technological platform has application in the purification of cell-free biofluids as well for which there is currently no process that can inactivate the rogue prion protein responsible for Mad Cow and Creutzfeldt-Jakob diseases.
