The d-OSAB™ platform technology represents a medical device that delivers a ‘precise measured dose’ of oxidative stressor; a quantifiable requirement for regulatory approval. The equipment consists of a monitoring system designed to determine the amount of stressor absorbed by the fluid/blood and a disposable device that maximizes contact between the stressor and the fluid/blood. Advances in construction design and materials utilized permit precise measurement of the amount of oxidative stressor absorbed and ensures homogenous interfacing of the stressor with the volume of fluid being treated. A prototype has been developed and used in proof-of-concept studies. AcquiSci anticipates a licensing fee for use of the biofluid purification application of the technology. As a therapeutic approach, the Company envisions both an equipment licensing fee for treatment plus revenue from dedicated disposables.
