Stroke Market

The potential combined market size in US and EU for stroke is $12.56 billion with potential AcquiSci sales of $1.256 billion based upon a 10% market share. The revenue for the stroke treatment product will be generated by two elements, a cost for treatment and a cost for the disposable blood contact equipment.

Assuming all ischemic stroke patients in Europe received a d-OSAB™ regimen of seven treatments, at $400 per treatment, the market size would be over $2.4 billion for the treatment and over $4.8 billion for the disposables at $800 per disposable.

AcquiSci projects on the basis of a seven-treatment cycle per patient; the associated cost would be $8400. Reimbursement for stroke treatment with thrombolytics has recently been increased to $11,578, cost-effectively positioning AcquiSci’s treatment cost projections.

Based upon a conservative ten percent (10%) penetration of the EU stroke market, annual gross revenue projections is $739 million.

However, further limiting penetration to 10% of the ischemic stroke market in only 16 major cities in Europe, revenues are expected to be approximately $468 million at the end of the second (2nd) year post commercialization with a formidable profit margin.

The forecast displayed in the exhibit below includes the following assumptions.
1. EU: Based upon 1 million strokes/year; ischemic stroke frequency 88%
2. US: Based upon 700,000 strokes/year; ischemic stroke frequency 88%
3. India: Based upon 1.8 million strokes/year; ischemic stroke frequency 80%
