BioFluid Market

The production of a bovine serum preparation that can be labeled as being free from potential prion infectivity will offer surety that bovine sera containing pharmaceuticals or reagents will not convey infectious prions.

The US annual market size for Fetal Bovine Sera (FBS) has been approximated to be $1.7 billion. Estimates for the world market are projected to be between 1.5 and two times the US market or between $2.42 billion to $3.22 billion.

The bovine sera manufacturing sector is dominated by five companies, which constitute in excess of 55% of the sera market. AcquiSci has developed a strategic relationship with the sera manufacturing leader that commands 19% of the market.

Assuming application of AcquiSci’s d-OSAB™ technological platform for the production of an infectious prion-free sera product receives regulatory approval to commercialize, process licensing to three (3) manufacturers (including the Company’s strategic partner) would represent access to 40% of the market.

AcquiSci has little competition in the purification of cell-free biofluids for which there is currently no process that can inactivate the rogue prion protein responsible for Mad Cow and Creutzfeldt-Jakob Diseases. This represents a sizable market opportunity.

AcquiSci offers a unique investment opportunity; the Company’s target markets are huge and with unmet needs. The benefit risk ratio for treatment is extremely high since the treatments are relatively non-toxic plus the Company has leveraged equipment development costs across a number of applications thereby minimizing commercialization expense.

AcquiSci product commercialization expense is between one (1) percent and two (2) percent of the normal cost to bring this type product to commercialization.
